Dr. Dietmar Reich

Dietmar Reich is a co-founder and board member of mediatEUr. He heads the Brussels office of an international law firm. In addition to providing legal advice to multinational companies in various industries, Dietmar advises both EU Member States and non-EU states on developments in the EU and the influence of Community law on the administration and legislative powers of Member States as well as on private industry projects. In 1994, he began practicing mediation in Geneva, solving conflicts related to EU pre-accession disputes.

He has also worked as a lecturer at the Universities of Geneva and Hamburg, specialising in competition law, and has accumulated over 15 years of professional practice.

In his current work, he assists parties in Eastern Europe and Asia in conflict resolution between industries and governments. Dietmar represents the Baltic Sea Forum in Brussels and is also a member of the Advisory Board of the Institute for European Affairs (INEA). The use of international mediation to promote global peace is a passion Dietmar has acquired over his years of work as a lawyer. Dietmar received his PhD in international law from the University of Kiel in 1997.
