Evaluating Third Party Peace Process Support

Start date: March 1, 2014
End date: May 1, 2014
Funded by: Nonviolent Peaceforce

Monitoring and evaluating third party support to peace process mechanisms is an important aspect of professionalisation in international peace mediation.

mediatEUr is embarking on a new project, together with Mindanao-based partner Initiatives for International Dialogue, to evaluate Nonviolent Peaceforce’s work in Mindanao, Philippines. NP’s work focuses on supporting the Civilian Protection Component of the International Monitoring Team.

Our overall aim is to enable Nonviolent Peaceforce to draw pertinent lessons from its work in the Philippines, with a view to informing its future practice. We will do this by conducting a learning-focused evaluation process that will assess the role and impact of NP’s work on the Ceasefire Monitoring Mechanism.
