In early 2017, mediatEUr and Interpeace began a conversation for potential collaboration on peace mapping efforts. Based on the experience of both organisations, and in the context of its project in Ivory Coast with the Japan International Cooperation Agency, Interpeace requested mediatEUr to prepare a proposal for a peace mapping component.
mediatEUr’s work will support Interpeace in its objective to produce an in-depth study of the social cohesion dynamics in the country. We will provide our expertise and tools in peace mapping to build an understanding of the situation in the area.
Our team for this project includes:
- Miguel Varela, Project Manager
- Jessica Ní Mhainín, Project Assistant
- Antje Herrberg, Support Leadership
The partnership falls within Interpeace’s Ivorian-Japanese Cooperation Program on "Returning to a Secure and Stable Society", where the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) is carrying out a series of technical support to improve governance and transparency, and to improve public confidence in the administration.
